A new Building, a new purpose
Completed in November 2009, the renovation and internal extension of the Swiss Church makes the new building both attractive and flexible, lending itself to use not only as a place of worship, but also as a venue open to a broad range of cultural events. The location, historical background, noteworthy architecture and first class acoustics of the Swiss Church all contribute to providing a platform for a wide range of artists, primarily younger artists, with an emphasis on those concerned with spiritual values and other social issues. There will not be a cultural director, rather an ad-hoc Cultural Committee, working together with existing cultural institutions, hosting or co-producing events, works and performances.

| From January 2010 onwards, musical concerts will take place on the last Thursday of every month at the Swiss Church. Launched by a music committee, composed of friends of the Swiss Church, the aim of the concert series is to offer primarily young talented musicians, some of them young Swiss studying or working in London, an opportunity to perform in a central venue in London. Additionally, it will also provide the audiences an enjoyable evening of music at an affordable price and the opportunity of meeting the artists after the event. Swiss and musicians from other nationalities will entertain with a varied programme of inspiring music that ranges from classical recitals to jazz evenings. | The Swiss Church aims to welcome exhibitions frequently throughout the year. Swiss, as well as international sculptors, performers, painters, graphic filmmakers and photographers, will be invited to create and exhibit their works. It is proposed that the Arts Committee will annually select different themes as guidelines for the exhibitions, artists in residence, lectures, discussions, and other events taking place in the Swiss Church. | ||
